Second Life Affiliates Make Real Life Dollars

Linden Lab, developer of Second Life - the 3D online world shaped entirely by its users, today announced the launch of its Affiliate Program. The Second Life Affiliate Program provides websites the opportunity to earn a commission each time one of their visitors participates in Second Life's free seven day trial. Affiliates can earn additional bonuses based upon their monthly referral volume and the conversion rates to Second Life membership of their referred traffic.

"Once people try Second Life via a small software download, they immediately become immersed in an online experience like no other. From creating an amazing looking avatar and attending events such as fashion shows or building contests, or just exploring a world full of diverse neighborhoods and people, Second Life is a new type of web community," said Robin Harper, senior vice president for Linden Lab. "The Second Life Affiliate Program is designed to help introduce people to Second Life via the websites they already visit for news about video games, technology, web design and other related topics."

There is no cost to become a Second Life Affiliate and Linden Lab will provide ongoing support to affiliate sites including exclusive screenshots, video files and Second Life news updates.

About Linden Lab
Linden Lab was founded in 1999 by Philip Rosedale to create a revolutionary new form of shared 3D entertainment. The former CTO of RealNetworks, Rosedale pioneered the development of many of today's streaming media technologies, including RealVideo. In April 2003, noted software pioneer Mitch Kapor, founder of Lotus Development Corporation, was named Chairman.

Second Life launched in June 2003 after being named a Time magazine "Coolest Invention of 2002" during its beta test. Currently available to all PC users via a download at www.SecondLife.com, Mac users will be able to experience Second Life for themselves this winter. The world of Second Life, which grows with the size of the community, is currently more than 1,000 virtual acres and by the end of 2003 should be as large as Manhattan.

Based in San Francisco, Linden Lab employs a senior development team bringing together deep expertise in physics, 3D graphics and networking. Team members have previously worked for market leading companies such as Electronic Arts, Maxis, Disney, THQ, Acclaim, Hasbro, Mattel and RealNetworks.
