Private Island Giveaway Promotion Kicks Off Strategic Alliance

(ELECTRONIC ENTERTAINMENT EXPO)-LOS ANGELES, CA-MAY 14, 2003-Linden Lab™, maker of Second Life™, a rapidly expanding new online society shaped entirely by its residents, and NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today announced a strategic marketing and development agreement. The companies will be giving away a private virtual island in Second Life and a complete desktop PC powered by the ultimate gaming platform - NVIDIA® graphics and platform processors. Attendees at this week's Electronic Entertainment Expo, held May 14-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, may see Second Life, powered by NVIDIA's GeForce™ FX family of graphics processing units (GPUs), exclusively on display and enter this one-time drawing at the NVIDIA booth (South Hall 1636).

The two companies also announced that they are working together to include future optimizations specifically for the GeForce FX family of GPUs, raising the bar on the level of visual realism of Second Life. As an NVIDIA developer and member of the "NVIDIA: The Way It's Meant to Be Played" program, Linden Lab will work closely with NVIDIA developers to take full advantage of the advanced capabilities of their GPUs. "Second Life offers residents unparalleled creative control within a dynamic 3D environment," said Robin Harper, senior vice president of marketing for Linden Lab. "Our partnership with NVIDIA leverages their tremendous expertise in high performance, 3D graphics in support of the designers, modelers, socialites, and gamers who are working together to build this amazing online society."
